Winter Blues

Hey Foxy Gals!

So, winter is here and what's a girl to do? I do miss my flip flops. But, the weather is chilly. First up, get a snuggly, slim fit sweater dress. They have them at all price points, colors lengths, etc. Next, get yourself some cool tights, patterned, solid, dotted, GO FOR IT! Finally, slip on some lovely leather boots, high, flat, low, YOU CHOOSE. You will be happy and winter won't feel so cold!

Stay Foxy!

Free Fall Fashions

So, I have been previewing the fall looks and I realized we have seen everything already! This is good! Why?? We can shop our closets and we don't need anything new! No need to buy new right this minute! The BIG trend for fall is military. Not the camouflage deluge of a few years ago. though, mostly army green & brown colors. Look in your closet and I am sure you have something already like this. Find a brown blazer or army green colored something in you closet, throw on a brown belt and those leather boots you have had in your closet and you are good to go! Another trend this fall is leather. I actually saw leather shorts, but we don't need to recreate this look since I am sure we all did leather shorts in the 80s! haha! BUT, we can pull out our leather jackets and sport them. We all have one or two. You may even have something else in leather hanging around, pants, skirts, boots. Take them out give them a whirl. Last trend still hanging around is leggings. You know you have at least one pair. Take them out again because they are back for fall. If you don't have , Target has a pair by Mossimo brand for 6 dollars! So, go in your closet and shop it like it's the mall! Have fun;)

Always be Foxy!

SEQUINS

Hey!

Besides leopard, my other signature is happy sequins. I know the stores are saying they are in. BUT SERIOUSLY, when have they been out?? I have loved them my whole life. I love vintage sequins items because no one else will have the same. I have several vintage pieces in my collection that can't be found anywhere. I love a sequin tuxedo jacket with jeans and flats. Wear a sequin beret just hanging off your head on a casual day. I wore my pink vintage one and FIVE people stopped me and asked where I got, no joke. ( In Vega$ at Annie Creamcheese Vintage of course!) I love the new sequin Loubies and they come in various colors; a nice way to dress up a plain black dress. I am waiting for the just the right to time to pull out my vintage score of a pink sequin tank dress that can't be found anywhere! Maybe New Year's? We will see!
Get happy and sparkly!
What are you waiting for?
Have a Foxy day!

Matchy Matchy

This Post is for my friend Jen D. who likes to buy outfits.

There are some of us girls who just like to buy the complete outfit and be done. For some time, I didn't get it. But, I have come to appreciate it. When you get the whole outfit from soup to nuts, you feel relieved, the pressure is off. This tactic is great for a special event. It puts the pressure off and you are ready for said event. You get your jewelry, outfit, shoes, etc. and you are done. I sometimes feel though that this limits me to the "outfit" and then if I wear it again I might have to change it up and make it look different. I need a different shoe, or would add a belt. My sister enjoys just buying the whole she-bang and getting out of the store. I enjoy the hunt! Whatever your style is , stick to it and make it your own!

Happy Shopping Foxy people!!

Knee High Boots & hats

Hey Foxy people!

There is nothing I love more than hats & boots. I can't turn down any kind of hat! My two faves of the moment are the fedora ( really slanty) and the sequin beret. Man, if you haven't tried a hat, please do it. They are SO much fun. Also, I have been trying out the knee high boots and sweet jesus, I heart them!! Wear anyway you like, but I can't resist wearing them with a skirt. I know, I know, I run the risk of looking pretty womanish, but I don't care! If loving boots and hats is wrong, then I don't want to be right!!!!! So go get a hat , tilt to the side and pretend to be from the Mod Squad.

Have a Foxy day!

Expensive Versus Cheap?

Hey Fashion Foxes!

My friend DECKS said to me the other day, "Cherie, I went to Nordstrom's shoe salon. It was very fun to look at all the shoes. But I don't understand why certain shoes are more expensive. What gives? Are they MADE better?" I thought about it. The next day I happened to wear a pair of gladiators I picked up at Kohl's for $34.99. If something is trendy, I'll buy cheap and throw out. WELL, seriously, I wore them TWO times. The soles had a hole in them by the end of the day. I walked into DECKS' room to show her. The Answer is YES, cheap shoes are just that: CHEAPLY MADE!!! So now, I am out $34.99. I could have used that towards a better pair. Now, my sweet hubby bought me a pair of BRIAN ATWOOD PUMPS!! They came in the mail the other day and GALS, they are sweet. They are made in Italy and let me tell you, they are made beautifully. The soles are prettier then any shoe I have ever seen. The suede is high quality and the stitching is impeccable. So my advice is this, if you don't mind a trendy shoe wearing out quickly, have fun. If you want something that will last longer, go better name, quality, etc. If your birthday or a holiday is coming up, treat yourself, YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE! ;)
Have a FOXY DAY!
